HOW DO I KEEP MY LIFE AND BUSINESS OUT OF “CRISIS MANAGEMENT” MODE?
September is National Preparedness Month, and there is no better time to discuss crisis management.
As a part of National Preparedness Month, the government’s Ready campaign promotes three steps:
1. a plan to stay in business
2. talking to your people
3. protecting your investment
All of these require preparation before disaster strikes. While the awareness campaign is focused on natural and man made disasters, crisis management in business also requires foresight and groundwork to deal with issues related to technology, confrontation, malevolence, organizational misdeeds, workplace violence, and public relations.
