Jerry C. Carter

Jerry Carter has practiced law for over twenty-one years. He focuses his practice on helping individuals and companies resolve business disputes and implement agreements and procedures that minimize or avoid future disputes. Mr. Carter graduated in 1992 from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as a Comment Editor for the University of Chicago Law Review. Mr. Carter received a B.A. in philosophy from Brigham Young University in 1988. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Carter served as a clerk to federal Court of Appeals Judge W. Eugene Davis. He then began his business litigation career at Mayer, Brown & Platt, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1996, Mr. Carter located his practice in Nevada, where he has represented individuals and businesses for the past 18 years. Mr. Carter resides in Reno, Nevada with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys cycling, backpacking, and barbecuing.

Karen Nielsen

Karen grew up in Reno and graduated from Reno High School and the University of Nevada.  She later earned a graduate degree in Spanish from Yale University. Karen has over 20 years’ experience working as a legal assistant/paralegal in personal injury, business, and litigation firms. Karen enjoys reading, movies, art, music, and swimming.

Anne J. Williams

Anne Williams has practiced law since 1982.  Ms. Williams has practiced primarily in the area of civil litigation and is licensed in Nevada and California.  She previously practiced in Florida.  Ms. Williams attended the University of Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 1978 and her law degree from the College of Law in 1982.  While in law school, Ms. Williams was a law clerk for state circuit court Judge Benjamin Tench and was selected to represent UF’s College of Law in mock trial competition in Memphis, Tennessee.  She practiced law in Florida for 15 years, primarily health care, employment law, municipal law, and appellate practice before moving to the Reno-Tahoe area in 1997.   Ms. Williams has continued her civil litigation practice in Nevada and California, including trial practice and alternative dispute resolution.  Ms. Williams lives in Reno and enjoys hiking, reading, and music.  Dogs have a special place in her heart.

Hello, my name is Maria Gutierrez, I am the Director of First Impression at the firm. On my free days I help manage a youth soccer organization, I work part time at a Hispanic Newspaper and Futsal Sports Arena in town, I also do a couple hundred hours of community service a year coaching an all-girls soccer team.
